I was replacing a belt tensioner on a BMW and that happened, unless that’s oil spray I see :O
Little coolant overflow hose is made of thin brittle plastic.

Belt broke. I didn’t want to stay on the freeway after I let it cool down so I drove another 1/4 mile.... that’s when there was smoke everywhere. The engine was still strong and all I heard was the belt flipping around very loudly.

It is oil. The belt was making all sorts of noise but the engine never bogged down. It could be a oil line hopefully

I am thinking the belt that was spinning around like a mofo all mega sharp and fast might have torn an oil line. Hopefully it’s just that.

It may be an oil line that was cut by the crazy sharp belt spinning around. Hopefully, the engine never felt low in power.

Did the oil pressure light turn on or not? If it didn’t the engine should be still somewhat ok.
